Browns center Alex Mack opts out, to become a free agent

Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl center Alex Mack opted out of his contract, exercising a clause to hit free agency. Mack is expected to become the highest-paid center in the NFL. Mack signed a five-year, $42 million offer sheet last year with the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the Browns matched the offer under their rights with him designated as their transition player. Mack is in line for a huge blockbuster deal. Returning to the Browns isn't out of the question, though. The Jaguars could pursue him again.
