Browns don't want to be part of Hard Knocks

The Cleveland Browns aren't interested in appearing on Hard Knocks. Part of the reason is because of quarterback Johnny Manziel and the attention he would receive coming off an offseason where he's in rehab. "You just weigh everything in," coach Mike Pettine said. "Because being a part of 'Hard Knocks,' having been there, knowing they're going to look to cover the team's biggest current storylines, it's obvious that he would be a point of attention." The Browns don't want to put more pressure on Manziel. "When we decided not to volunteer for 'Hard Knocks,' we discussed everything that was involved with it," Pettine said. "[Manziel] is certainly something we needed to consider." Technically, the Browns could be forced to do the series. The NFL is unlikely to do that, though.
