Browns' Mack undergoes appendectomy

Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack will miss some time after undergoing an appendectomy on Monday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Mack played in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans with what was described as flu-like symptoms, and was also reported to have thrown up at Thursday's practice, something that was likely related to the appendicitis. He was at teammate Tony Pashos' house on Sunday night and was feeling ill then as well.

"He's tough as nails because he was feeling a little queasy during that game too,'' Pashos. "I was over there last night watching Sunday night football with him and he was talking about some issues then, too, and I was like maybe it's just something you ate.''

The Browns have a bye this week, and Mack has not been ruled out for the Oct. 16 game against the Oakland Raiders.
