Browns owner expresses confidence Alex Mack isn't going anywhere

The Cleveland Browns aren't inclined to lose Pro Bowl center Alex Mack.

The Browns are expected to match any offer sheet from the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"We remain optimistic that Alex Mack will be a Cleveland Brown for a long time,'' Haslam said. "We want him to be. I think we've made it very clear that he's the kind of person, the kind of player we want in our organization.'

When asked if the Browns would match any offer, the newspaper said Haslam smiled and said: "We want Alex to be a Cleveland Brown.''

Mack recently visited the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"Well, there's no doubt that he will be here at least this year,'' offensive tackle Joe Thomas said. "I think that's for certain. I certainly hope we can sign him to a long-term deal and keep him here for much longer than I'm here.''

Mack is due a $10.039 million transition tender this season.
