Browns place Alex Mack on injured reserve after surgery

The Cleveland Browns placed Pro Bowl center Alex Mack on injured reserve following surgery to repair a broken leg.

They promoted offensive lineman Ryan Seymour from the practice squad to the active roster.

They signed defensive lineman Christian Tupou to the practice squad.

They cut cornerback Isaiah Trufant from injured reserve.

Mack underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured fibula Thursday in Charlotte, N.C. The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Anderson and full recovery is expected by the start of the 2015 season.
