Browns plan no changes for bye week
Although Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam met last week with coach Mike Pettine and challenged the coach to come up with some solutions following a 2-8 start, there are no changes planned for the AFC North club's bye week. A shakeup could be coming after the season, though. Pettine has lost 13 of his last 15 games. "I had a good meeting with Jimmy just the other day,'' Pettine said "We discussed a lot of things, including what's been going well and what hasn't been going well, the plan moving forward. But where we are right now isn't good enough. So we're challenged as a staff to do a little soul-searching and come up with some answers and make sure that when we come out of this break, we're ready to go and ready to snap this streak.'' The defense and the offense are both struggling. "Just me and Jimmy,'' Pettine said."Just a normal scheduled middle of the year get together. Jimmy and I talk often when he comes out to practice. We spend a lot of time. It's not like we go for long stretches of time, but it's just a meeting that had been on the book for a long time. We had the mini-bye and got together after the Cincinnati game and covered a lot of ground.'' Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
