Browns stick by Fujita
The Cleveland Browns will stand by linebacker Scott Fujita, one of four players suspended for their alleged roles in the New Orleans Saints "Bountygate" scandal from 2009.
As the suspensions go, Fujita got the lightest suspension of any of the four players punish, as Commissioner Roger Goodell banned him for the first three games of the 2012 season. Fujita apparently plans to appeal the suspension.
According to the Akron Beacon-Journal, Browns coach Pat Shurmur issued a statement on the matter, respecting Goodell's decision and voicing support for Fujita.
“We will respect the Commissioner’s decision,” Shurmur said. “Scott is a valued member of the Cleveland Browns, and we look forward to his participation in our offseason program and training camp.”
