Browns waive Ray Agnew, promote Kiero Small
Ray Agnew was good enough to start in Cleveland's first six games. But heading into Week 8, he's no longer in the team's plans.
The Browns waived Agnew on Monday, just a day after seeing 18 snaps in an embarrassing 24-6 loss to the Jaguars. To replace Agnew, the Browns promoted rookie fullback Kiero Small from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
For the season, Agnew has two carries for two yards and two receptions for 15 yards.
Small, who played college football at Arkansas, was drafted by the Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft. The Browns added Small to their practice squad after Seattle waived him at the preseason's conclusion.
