Buccaneers' blackout streak reaches double-digits
It’s official. The blackout streak for Tampa Bay Buccaneers home games has reached 10.
Thursday’s deadline for a sellout came and went and the team didn’t seek a 24-hour extension from the NFL, a sure sign the Bucs were not close to selling out Raymond James Stadium for Sunday’s game with the Atlanta Falcons.
According to the Tampa Tribune, the Bucs sold out every home game at Raymond James Stadium since it opened in 1998 before last season. Every home game was blacked out on local television last season. The Bucs were more than 13,000 seats short of a sellout in their Week 1 opener against the Detroit Lions.
