Buccaneers no longer winless, beat distracted Dolphins
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are no longer winless.
They defeated the Miami Dolphins on Monday night, 22-19, their first win of the season.
It wasn't easy. It required a touchdown pass to offensive tackle Donald Penn, a safety by linebacker Lavonte David and diminutive running back Bobby Rainey contributing a touchdown after Mike James suffered a season-ending broken right ankle.
"A win cures everything," cornerback Darrelle Revis said. "We'd been 0-8 and struggling getting wins this year. But it's good to get this first win, especially at home. The fans were into it. It was Veterans Day. It was an emotional game for us, and we knew what type of game it was going to be on Monday night as well. It's great for the fans, and it's going to give us confidence week in and week out."
