Buccaneers promote Dirk Koetter to head coach

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are promoting offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter to head coach as the replacement for fired coach Lovie Smith. Koetter did a good job with rookie quarterback Jameis Winston, the top overall pick of the draft. He also interviewed with the San Francisco 49ers. He's never been an NFL head coach before. He was a college head coach at Arizona State and Boise State. Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
