Buccaneers promote Solomon Patton, Brandon Dixon from practice squad

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted cornerback Brandon Dixon and wide receiver Solomon Patton from the practice squad to the active roster.

They cut wide receiver Louis Murphy and cornerback Quinton Pointer. Pointer was releaed with an injury waiver.

Dixon was drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round this spring.

Patton is an undrafted free agent from Florida.

Muprhy has a back injury.

Pointer has an undisclosed injury.
