Buccaneers trying out David Gettis, five others
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are trying out six players at their minicamp.
That includes former Carolina Panthers wide receiver David Gettis, safety Tony Dye, former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Kip Edwards, former Toledo linebacker T.J. Fatinikun, former Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Ronald Talley and former Iowa State punter Kirby Van Der Kamp.
Gettis was a Panthers sixth-round draft pick who caught 37 passes for 508 yards and three touchdowns during the 2010 season.
Gettis later tore his anterior cruciate ligament.
He was cut by the Washington Redskins in May.
Dye has played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Oakland Raiders.
Edwards has played for the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills.
Fatinikun has played in the Arena Football League.
Talley signed with the Green Bay Packers as a rookie free agent in 2009 and spent his entire rookie season on their practice squad. He then played for the Cardinals with one start, 14 tackles and a pass deflection in the the past three seasons.
