Bucs claim Martin Rucker

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed tight end Martin Rucker off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles.

A fourth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2008, Rucker spent last season on the practice squad in Philadelphia. To make room for Rucker, the Bucs released defensive end George Johnson and wide receiver Mario Urrutia. The club also signed safety Vince Anderson, according to Pewter Report.

It was a somewhat curious move because Rucker is now the sixth tight end on the roster, but te Bucs probably want to take it as an opportunity to kick the tires on him and see if he’s worthy of consideration down the road.
