Bucs expanding search for head coach

Ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris landed a job this week with the Washington Redskins while his former team continues to work toward finding a replacement.

The Bucs have received permission to interview Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, according to an ESPN report. According to the St. Petersburg Times, the Bucs are also setting up an interview with Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski.

Tampa’s management should know Chudzinski pretty well after seeing the Panthers and rookie quarterback Cam Newton twice during the regular season. The Bucs might want to pair a strong offensive coach with quarterback Josh Freeman.

The Bucs have looked a wide cross-section of candidates to this point, interviewing Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray as well as former NFL head coaches Marty Schottenheimer, Mike Sherman and Brad Childress.
