Bucs make front office moves, promote Dennis Hickey
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted Dennis Hickey, the club’s director of college scouting, to director of player personnel.
Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune reports that Hickey, who has been with the organization for 16 years, will now oversee the pro personnel department as well. He’s been instrumental in recent drafts that have quickly rebuilt the franchise.
"Dennis' organizational ability and talent as a player evaluator have been vital to the Buccaneers for the past 15 seasons,'' Dominik said in a statement released by the club. "We are excited that he will continue to be an integral part of our plan in his expanded role, as he exemplifies this organization's focus and commitment to bringing championships to Tampa Bay.''
The Buccaneers also hired veteran Bill Rees as a college scout. At one point, he was the college scouting director for the Chicago Bears and he then worked for the Cleveland Browns. Tony Hardie was hired as a combine scout and Rob McCartney will be a pro personnel assistant. Mike Greenberg was promoted to coordinator of football administration and Tony Kinkela move from combine scout to college scout.
