Bucs promote Barker, waive Vincent
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have waived veteran guard Keydrick Vincent in order to make room for offensive tackle Will Barker, who was promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
Vincent is a vested veteran, but he will be required to clear waivers. He had signed with the Bucs as an insurance policy for the middle of their line in July, a couple weeks before training camp.
Barker, who did not miss a starter in four seasons at Virginia, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys. When he was cut loose at final cut downs, the Bucs scooped him up and added him to their practice squad. Now, he’ll get a chance to earn a season’s worth of credit.
