Bucs sign punter Brent Bowden

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed punter Brent Bowden to a four-year contract.

The sixth-round draft pick received a signing bonus of just more than $123,000, according to a league source, and his deal can max out at $2.615 million.

Bowden, a Virginia Tech product, projects to be the team’s punter this season. He was the second player at his position selected in the draft. The Bucs now have three draft picks under contract, including cornerback Myron Lewis (third round) and wide receiver Mike Williams (fourth round).

To make room, the club released veteran wide receiver Mark Bradley. Originally a second-round draft pick by the Chicago Bears in 2005, Bradley had a short stay in Tampa after spending a little more than a season in Kansas City. He’s always had difficulty remaining healthy.
