Bum Phillips passes away at age 90

Former Houston Oilers coach and NFL legend Bum Phillips died Friday night at his ranch in Goliad, Texas.

Phillips, the colorful, Stetson-wearing football coach, was 90 years old.

Phillips was the leader of the Oilers during the famed Luv ya Blue era. He also coached the New Orleans Saints.

"Thanks you all for your kindness and support for my family at this time -#LuvyaBum"

With the Oilers, Phillips went 55-35 during the regular season and won four of seven playoff games.

"Condolences to Wade Phillips and the entire Phillips family," Saints coach Sean Payton wrote on Twitter. "Rest In Peace Bum,"
