Burress' work release application denied in prison
Plaxico Burress is not getting out of prison just yet.
The work release application for the ex-Giants star has been denied by the New York Department of Correctional Services.
Burress made the application just a few months into his two-year sentence. Prosecutors said it would be too soon to give the former Super Bowl star a break.
Burress went to prison in September after he accidentally shot himself in the leg in a Manhattan nightclub. He pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon.
He can appeal the decision within 30 days, and can reapply for work release in July 2010.
Burress' lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Thursday.
