Cadillac Williams signs tender with Bucs
Now, left tackle Donald Penn is the only veteran not under contract with the Tampa bay Buccaneers.
That is because running back Cadillac Williams has signed his one-year tender as a restricted free agent. Williams, the fifth pick of the 2005 draft, played in all 16 games last season and he led the team with 823 yards rushing and scored four touchdowns.
Williams’ signing wasn’t the only business conducted by the Bucs today. They also claimed guard Michael Shumard off waivers from the Denver Broncos. The Bucs need some young talent in the middle of their line and can take a look at Shumard, the Texas A&M product who joined the Broncos as an undrafted free agent following the draft.
To make room, the Bucs waived offensive tackle Robert Okeafor.
