Calvin Johnson late arrival to practice, limited participant
UPDATE: After not being present for the portion of practice open to the media, it appears Calvin Johnson did make it to the football field for practice. He was deemed limited by the organization.
Once again, Lions receiver Calvin Johnson a no-show at practice.
According to the team's official website, the one they call Megatron was a non-participant in practice on Wednesday. He's been slowed down by a sprained ankle that caused him to miss the last two games. He aggravated the already-sprained ankle against the Bills in Week 5.
In Johnson's absence, offseason acquisition Golden Tate has stepped up in a big way. A week ago in a comeback win over the Saints, Tate had 154 yards and a touchdown, with the score coming on a 73-yard play.
With Tate emerging as a second big-play threat, the Lions figure to be even more dangerous offensively once Johnson is back on the field.
