Cam Newton has two transverse fractures in lower back

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton suffered two fractures in his back during a car accident.

He'll remain hospitalized overnight with two transverse process fractures in his lower back.

The Panther said he has no other internal injuries.

It's the same injury suffered by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, causing him to miss a game.
