Cam Newton will begin working with Panthers next week
Cam Newton will join his Carolina Panthers teammates in workouts beginning next Wednesday at Charlotte Christian High School.
Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette reports that veteran offensive linemen Jordan Gross and Travelle Wharton have organized the informal practices.
Newton, the No. overall pick in the draft last month, has been working out at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He’s been tutored by Chris Weinke, the former Panthers quarterback, and Ken Dorsey, who played for new offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski at the University of Miami.
It’s unknown how many players will gather for the workouts, but the Panthers could have between 25 and 35 players. It’s good to know Newton will start working with his new teammates.
