Cardinals add Chilo Rachal

The Arizona Cardinals have signed Chilo Rachal to add some depth to the interior of their offensive line.

Rachal, 27, started eight games for the Chicago Bears last season but was placed on the non-football injury list after he was demoted and became distraught by the club’s decision and left the team.

A former second-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2008, Rachal has a wealth of starting experience. He provides the Cardinals with some competition and if he can prove he’s worthy, a backup spot on the 53-man roster might not be out of the question.

Rachal has good size at 6-5, 323 pounds, but he can be prone to mental mistakes. If he’s realistic about the opportunity ahead of him, he could continue his career. He’s known for being a hard worker and the Cardinals have a fresh slate for him.
