Cardinals done using NAU for training camp
The Arizona Cardinals have been working to firm up an agreement to move training camp from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff to their home base in Glendale, but there remained a chance the team would getaway for one more summer.
Not now.
Northern Arizona University has rejected a one-year deal with the Cardinals and has rescinded an offer to host them for the next three years, according to the Arizona Daily Sun, putting an end to an era for the franchise.
According to the report, NAU and the club squabbled over a host of issues, including the school charging for parking and wanting a cut of team merchandise sold at training camp. The Cardinals have trained at NAU for 25 years where it is cooler in the summer than the Phoenix area. Now, the team will have to finalize plans for a new home this summer.
