Cardinals fire defensive coordinator Bill Davis
Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt predicted changes on his coaching staff and it didn’t take long.
The team announced tonight that defensive coordinator Bill Davis has been relieved of his duties. The Cardinals allowed more points than any team in the NFL this season, and their problems can be traced back to last season when they set a league record by allowing 90 points in two playoff games.
Davis has been the defensive coordinator the past two seasons. He joined the Cardinals in 2007 as a linebackers coach.
Statistically, the Cardinals were just as bad offensively as they were on defense this season. But no sweeping changes are expected on the offensive staff.
