Cardinals name Ryan Lindley starting quarterback
The Arizona Cardinals don’t have many moves to make when it comes to their wretched quarterback situation.
Not many appealing ones anyway.
But they are making a move none the less as Ryan Lindley has been named the starter for Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. Lindley replaced John Skelton in the second quarter of the loss this past week at Atlanta.
Lindley completed 9 of 20 passes vs. the Falcons but for only 64 yards. Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt essentially admitted it was a desperation move by the club.
“Ryan will start for us and hopefully give us a spark and play well,” Whisenhunt said, per the report.
Remember the 4-0 start by the Cardinals? Well, it’s difficult for us to remember as well. Between Kevin Kolb and Skelton, the Cardinals are probably fortunate in a six-game losing streak to have even four wins this season. They have a nice defense but offensively there just isn’t much to work with at the most important position in the game.
Kolb remains sidelined with a shoulder and rib injury.
