Cardinals re-acquire their left tackle
Maybe Levi Brown decided the grass wasn’t greener on the other side.
Maybe it just took a little extra time to hammer out a deal.
Whatever the case, the left tackle is back in the fold with the Arizona Cardinals. Two days after the team released him for salary-cap reasons, Brown has agreed to terms on a new, five-year contract. It’s a good move for the Cardinals, who otherwise would have had a gaping hole in their line.
Brown was due to count $17 million against the salary cap this season before he was released. Now, Arizona has the fifth overall selection from the 2007 draft back in the mix with a much more cap-friendly deal.
Maybe today we’ll find out if Brown will be blocking for a new quarterback that will wear No. 18.
