Case dropped against Falcons CB Christopher Owens

A case against Atlanta Falcons cornerback Christopher Owens was dismissed this morning in Gwinnett County, Ga.

D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Latia Terry, the mother of the couple’s 9-month-old child, has decided not to pursue the matter. Terry had alleged that Owens trashed the apartment he was renting for her and the child, and destroyed a significant amount of her personal belongings. Owens’ camp claimed Terry was seeking revenge because he no longer had interest in a relationship with her.

He’s is pleased that she decided to dismiss the case,” attorney Randall Kessler told Ledbetter. “He looks forward to working with her to raise their son together.”

Per Ledbetter, the initial reports were out of character for Owens, who was the Falcons man of the year in 2010.
