Central Florida offensive lineman Torrian Wilson worked out for Patriots, Dolphins
Central Florida left tackle Torrian Wilson had a private workout for the New England Patriots and participated in the Miami Dolphins' local prospect day.
Wilson worked out for retired Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia.
"It was great, their offensive line coach and scout came down and saw me and we did drills and board work," Wilson said in a telephone interview. "He added a little twist to it and taught me their plays and put up about five plays and I had to memorize the calls and what exactly each and every offensive lineman has to do on each play. We talked for a while and he asked me if I would like to visit New England.
Wilson is from Miami, where he was a high school All-American.
“It was good, I had a private meeting with the offensive line coach and went over some board work for the Dolphins, Wilson said. "Playing for the hometown team would definitely be a great thing
Wilson was an all-conference second-team selection and named the Golden Knights' Outstanding Offensive Lineman.
Wilson was All-Conference USA second-team as a sophomore.
He was a four-year starter. Wilson bench pressed 225 pounds 29 times at his Pro Day workout. His max bench press is 510 pounds.
Wilson was recruited by Stanford, Louisville, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan and South Florida.
"I'm someone who will go out there and give everything I got every play," Wilson said. "I'm going to prepare and work hard and become a starter one day.
"I'm a quiet leader who leads by example. That's something my parents taught me. I don't have to do a whole lot of talking. I'm a man of action, not words."
