Chad Clifton should be fine after neck stinger
Chad Clifton says he won’t have any problem being fully ready to go for Super Bowl XLV.
The Green Bay Packers got a scare on Sunday when he left the NFC Championship Game at the end of the opening drive with a neck stinger suffered when he collided with fullback John Kuhn.
Kuhn missed a little more than a quarter before returning to action. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, he underwent ultrasound and massage treatment in the locker room to get feeling back in his shoulder and arm.
“It's pretty sore today," Clifton said. "It's a little stiff. But it's something that I've played with before. Stingers are pretty common in the league. So just fortunate that I was able to come back and play.
"I feel like by Friday, I think that's our first practice, I should be fine. I don't foresee missing any practice time this week."
Clifton has been playing at a high level in the past month with two strong games vs. Julius Peppers and good outings vs. Trent Cole and John Abraham.
