Chad Jones will be released from hospital today
Before his teammates will report to training camp in Albany, N.Y., Chad Jones is making the next step in his recovery from a gruesome one-car accident.
The New York Giants rookie safety will be released from the Hospital for Special Services in New York today, according to the Giants’ Pat Hanlon. Jones’ career was put in jeopardy when he crashed his SUV into a pole in New Orleans, leading to an all-day surgery that was necessary to save his foot.
After that accident on June 25, Jones was transferred to New York on June 29. Now, he will be cleared to head home for recovery before returning in six to eight weeks for additional surgery. According to Hanlon, Jones leaves the hospital today in “great spirits.”
