Chargers eyeing pass rush help

The San Diego Chargers are looking at the pass rushers that will be available in this year's draft.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Chargers GM A.J. Smith showed a little bit of excitement as he got an up close look at pass rushers like Melvin Ingram of South Carolina and Courtney Upshaw of Alabama.

A lot of teams are looking for pass rush help - it is one of the staples of the football industry to find guys who can consistently get to the quarterback. And there is loads of posturing and semantics designed to throw people off the scent of who teams reallly want.

But the truth is, the Chargers have been needing a difference-making pass rusher since Shawne Merriman departed San Diego, and this draft seems to have some who can potentially make a difference.
