Chargers' Garay $15k lighter for hit on Brady
Antonio Garay should have known he couldn't violate the "Tom Brady Rule" on, of all people, Tom Brady.
Garay was fined $15,000 for hitting the New England Patriots star quarterback below the left knee as he was attempting a pass in Sunday's game, according to ESPN.com. Garay was not flagged for his dive at Brady's knee, but was ticketed by the league when it reviewed the play.
The Brady Rule, so dubbed after a low hit by then-Kansas City Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, caused Brady to suffer a torn ACL in his left knee, one which he now wears a protective brace on, and was wearing to absorb the Garay hit on Sunday.
