Chargers sign Jeff Cumberland

The San Diego Chargers signed former New York Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland to a one-year contract. Cumberland is a 6-4, 260-pounder who's entering his seventh NFL season. Cumberland has 86 career receptions for 1,119 yards and 10 touchdowns. Cumberland is a former undrafted free agent who played six seasons for the Jets. In 2013, Cumberland caught 26 passes for 398 yards and four touchdowns. Cumberland played collegiately at the University of Illinois.
