Chargers sign Michael Huey

The San Diego Chargers signed offensive guard Michael Huey. They cut center Jeff Baca and nose tackle Chas Alecxih. Huey signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2011 after going undrafted out of Texas. He started 20 games in four seasons for the Longhorns. The Chargers cut Huey in training camp. Huey played for the Arizona Rattlers in the Arena League, winning three consecutive Arena Bowl titles and being named All-Arena League. Huey was on the Washington Redskins' practice squad briefly last season. Baca split time between the practice squad and 53-man roster in 2014, and was active for games against the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs.  Alecxih spent the entire season on the practice squad after being released at the end of training camp.
