Chargers work out deal with Ingram

The San Diego Chargers have been busy today getting rookies under contract.

Shortly after the deal for second-rounder Kendall Reyes was completed, the Chargers announced that they had also reached a four-year contract with top pick Melvin Ingram of South Carolina.

Ingram, who slipped to 18th overall in the draft, potentially gives San Diego its best outside linebacker since Shawne Merriman. His contract contains a club option for a fifth year as well.

In addition, the Chargers also announced that the deal for center David Molk, their seventh-round pick, had been completed as well.
