For everything receiver Wes Welker has accomplished in his NFL career, especially after going undrafted, it's astonishing he's yet to win a Super Bowl in three appearances. 

The first time came in 2007 when the then 18-0 Patriots were upset by the New York Giants 17-14. Four seasons later, the Giants got the Patriots again 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI. Then last season with the Broncos, Welker's squad fell to the Seahawks 34-8.

Winning a Super Bowl is the last thing left for the five-time Pro Bowl player to accomplish.

"I think it's kind of the one thing that's out there for me," Welker told The Denver Post. "It's what pushes me. It's what motivates me. "We have a great opportunity, and we want to make the most of it."

The Broncos did their part to stack the defense up, bringing in DeMarcus Ware, Aqib Talib and T.J. Ward. The offense should be back to where it was a year ago, if not better. Though Eric Decker left, the Broncos signed Emmanuel Sanders and drafted Cody Latimer.

If Welker's Broncos don't win the Super Bowl this year, then his opportunities could close quickly. There's a great chance Denver doesn't re-sign the 33-year-old when he's a free agent in 2015.

And with the way he exited New England, Welker probably won't be returning there any time soon.
