Chaz Schilens on Mark Sanchez: 'Nothing good to say'

Detroit Lions veteran wide receiver Chaz Schilens isn't much different from the New York Jets' fans who booed embattled quarterback Mark Sanchez during a recent scrimmage.

That is to say, he's not enamored of Sanchez.

The difference between the fans and Schilens? Schilens actually played for the Jets last season with six starts and 28 receptions, giving him a close view of Sanchez's play.

“For me there?” Schilens told the Detroit Free Press. “Really, when it came down to it, I kind of felt like they were looking for scapegoats and besides everyone except for, you know, maybe the quarterback position, and it was what it was. When free agency didn’t start off right away, I just kind of understood what it was and part of the business.”

Sanchez is being pushed hard for the starting job by rookie Geno Smith.

“Nothing good to say, so I’m not going to say nothing," Schilens said of Sanchez.
