Chiefs OC Muir announces retirement

Veteran coach Bill Muir announced his retirement as the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator on Wednesday morning, the Kansas City Star reported.

Muir, 69, was asked if he would remain as the team's offensive line coach, but he apparently declined.

The Chiefs have already interviewed quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn for the offensive coordinator's spot and a source tells the newspaper that if Zorn is not hired for the vacancy he might tender his resignation as well.

Earlier this week, there were reports that the Chiefs had denied Zorn permission to interview for the offensive coordinator position with the Chicago Bears.
