The Kansas City Chiefs re-signed defensive tackle Jaye Howard to a two-year, $12 million deal. They re-signed linebacker Derrick Johnson to a three-year, $21 million deal. Johnson, 33, has 26 1/2 career sacks and 820 tackles. Howard emerged as a top defender last season. The Chiefs would like to hold onto cornerback Sean Smith.
