Chris Cook will have hearing on gun charge Monday
Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook is scheduled to appear in court in Lynchburg, Va., for a preliminary hearing on his misdemeanor charge of brandishing a firearm on Monday.
Cook was arrested Saturday and charged with pointing a gun at a neighbor after a verbal altercation. He has denied pulling a gun. But the neighbor swore out a criminal complaint vs. Cook and by law in Virginia, he was arrested and charged.
According to Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the prosecutors will determine at the hearing whether or not to formally press charges and pursue the case against the former Virginia star. Cook said he did recently receive a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Cook was released on his own recognizance.
