Chris Cooley says Albert Haynesworth 'hates football'
Chris Cooley doesn’t have anything personal against Albert Haynesworth.
He just doesn’t believe his former teammate enjoys playing football, the occupation he’s chosen to make tens of millions of dollars. They spent two seasons together with the Washington Redskins and now Haynesworth is on his second team in 2011 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Visiting with 105.7 The Fan in D.C., Cooley tore into Haynesworth a little bit when he was asked about the defensive tackle flourishing somewhat with the Bucs.
“The thing that I would think about Albert, the way his last three years have played out, is that he hates football,” Cooley said. “I’m not criticizing his character or his work or anything. My only assumption in this, and it’s just an opinion, is that he does not like football, by what I’ve seen over the last three years. If he loved the game of football, he’d show up and love it.”
Comments like these are always interesting. They mean a ton more when a teammate says it about a current teammate, though.
