Chris Hawkins arrested in North Carolina on violations
Former North Carolina defensive back Chris Hawkins has been arrested and charged with acting as an agent in violation of North Carolina law prohibiting illegally enticing college athletes into contracts.
He heads to court today.
Hawkins allegedly gave former North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn, now with the St. Louis Rams, $13,700 in cash and selling his game-used equipment for $1,700.
Hawkins, 32, allegedly made illegal contact with former North Carolina defenisve back Jabari Price through Instagram without being a registered agent and intentionally failing to register as an agent.
North Carolina has a strict sports agent law, including indictments of Georgia agent Terry Watson.
Hawkins is no longer welcome around the Tar Heels program.
