Chris Henry's mom becomes spokesman for organ donation
Former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry died tragically in December 2009 when he was thrown off the back of a truck.
His mother, Carolyn Henry Glaspy, donated Henry's organs and since has become a spokesperson for organ donation and transplants, turning her family's misfortune and tragedy into an opportunity to help others.
Glaspy does not ask for fees when she speaks to support and encourage people to donate their organs in order to pass life one. She said it wouldn't be right for her to do so.
"I don't ask for anything," she told the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I didn't ask God to take my son so I could make money doing this. It gives me joy in my heart to try to help."
