Chris Long restructures contract, gets $3 million bonus
St. Louis Rams veteran defensive end Chris Long restructured his contract to create $2 million in salary cap space, converting $3 million of his $13.2 million base salary into a signing bonus, according to a league source.
He now has a $10.2 million fully guaranteed salary for 2014. His salary cap figure for this year is $12.9 million, down from $14.9 million.
Long's future contract years are unaffected except for adding $1 million per year to his cap figures.
Long is represented by veteran agent Marvin Demoff, the father of Rams executive Kevin Demoff.
