Clay Matthews expects to return Sunday

Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews expects to make his return Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles from a broken right thumb that required surgery.

He has missed the past four games.

Matthews has practiced for each of the past two days, albeit on a limited basis.

He has had the pins removed from his thumb.

"Hopefully by the time Sunday rolls around it will be as if I'm playing with two hands, except one's clubbed up," Matthews told reporters. "I've been working hard, obviously it's difficult to work with one hand as far as your upper body, but lower body and conditioning and cardio, I've been working hard."
