Cliff Avril signs four-year extension with Seahawks
The Seahawks have been pleased with what they've gotten out of Cliff Avril over the past two seasons.
Therefore, on Friday, the Seahawks signed Avril to a four-year extension worth $28.5 million, according to a report from NFL.com. $16 million of the deal will be guaranteed.
Avril has played a big role in Seattle's success on defense. In 2013, he had eight sacks and five forced fumbles. With the defense coming out of a midseason slump, Avril has still managed to record 4.5 sacks and 20 total tackles. Just as important is how Avril has been a constant threat rushing the passer to force hurried throws.
The Seahawks have seemed to put everything together on defense at the right time of the season, with Avril playing a big reason as to why.
