Colin Kaepernick picks team's minicamp over rookie seminars
Given the opportunity to learn at the rookie symposium being put on by the NFLPA, or learn from his new teammates, Colin Kaepernick selected the new teammates.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback, a second-round draft pick who is expected to learn from Alex Smith this season, will stay in the Bay Area for a player-run minicamp that conflicts with the rookie seminars being held in Bradenton, Fla., this week.
Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reported that Kaepernick preferred to put his nose in a 49ers playbook this week. He also reports that Kaepernick has nearly fully rehabilitated from the surgery had on his lower left leg shortly after the NFL draft. He’s just started dropping back on the leg, so the time with his new teammates will prove valuable.
